When formatting a hard drive, what is the best primary DOS partition usage? (percentage)?

I will be installing the old windows 98 (1st ed.). I am using old 2-4gig. hard drives from another pc. I plan on installing 3 hard drives total. All 3 are from various pc’s that I have recovered from garage sales and so forth. The pc that I am installing these in is a power spec pc model 4270. Which has a very accessable bios. I intend on building this pc to the fullest potential. Any info regarding this process of rebuilding would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to purchase any further components or devices for this project. I have many “parts” from these other pc’s. I have already installed the max. memory (256 mb) and a pentium lll processor. I have no formal education in this matter. Just tinkering knowledge. So, do not get too technical.

It depends upon the total space and the type of programs.For a normal computer havong 40GB disc space it issufficient to have 10GB in primary disc.If you can allot 20GB, it is better.
